Even though toner does not dry up and expire fast like ink, it is still important to store them correctly until used. For best results, store them in a dry place at room temperature away from direct sunlight and heat in the original packaging. Keep them in a horizontal position and gently shake the cartridge before installing.
Generally ink and inkjet printers are the best choice for printing out professional quality images. However, in recent years, reputed brands have been producing toners that offer similar print quality. For text, toners are as good as ink in delivering crisp, vivid and bright prints.
Printer manufacturers sell their devices at competitively low prices to customers and make up for it by selling toners at relatively higher prices. Also, the higher price of a toner is due to the production cost involved in manufacturing high-quality toner. You can save more on printing costs when buying remanufactured or compatible toner cartridges at a fraction of the cost.
Toner cartridges from almost all reputed brands carry a chip inside to monitor toner usage and to alert when the toner level becomes low. After issuing the warning, it can stop printing further pages until a new cartridge is replaced. Some printer models require a reset of the printer’s toner counter after installing a new cartridge.
