Refillable Ink Tank Printer
Brother DCP-T580DW ($414.76) : In Stock
The DCP-T580DW is a compact 3-in-1 refillable ink tank printer covering print, scan, and copy.
Instead of cartridges, it uses BTD180 ink bottles : up to 7,500 pages from the black bottle and 5,000 pages per colour (cyan, magenta, yellow).
The included ink in the box covers approximately the same yield, meaning you can print thousands of pages before buying a refill.
Print speed is up to 16ppm with automatic duplex, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), USB, and a 150-sheet paper tray.
No ADF : multi-page scanning and copying requires placing each sheet on the flatbed glass individually.
Compatible with AirPrint and Brother's Mobile Connect app for printing from iOS and Android.
Business Smart A3 Inkjet Multifunction Printers
The Business Smart range prints up to A3, with all four models covering print, scan, copy, and fax.
All include auto duplex printing, wireless and Ethernet connectivity, a 50-page ADF, and an 8.8cm colour touchscreen.
All print at up to 28–30ppm.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What's the difference between the DCP-T580DW and the MFC-J6540DW?
They're quite different printers for different users.
The DCP-T580DW is a compact A4 refillable ink tank printer : low cost per page via bottled ink, no ADF, no fax, suited to home use.
The MFC-J6540DW is a business-grade A3 inkjet MFP with fax, ADF, and wide-format printing capability.
If you need A3 or fax, the MFC-J6540DW is the right tool.
If you want low running costs in a compact home printer, the DCP-T580DW is the better fit.
2. The DCP-T580DW has no ADF, does that matter?
It depends entirely on how you scan.
If you scan individual documents occasionally : a receipt, a letter, a single form : placing each sheet on the flatbed is no inconvenience.
If you regularly need to scan multi-page documents (contracts, reports, invoices), doing it one sheet at a time becomes slow and frustrating.
For batch scanning, the Business Smart A3 models with their 50-page ADF are a better fit
.
3. What's the difference between the MFC-J5740DW and MFC-J6940DW?
Both have dual paper trays and single-pass duplex scanning.
The J6940DW ($435.18) is rated for a higher monthly duty cycle and is better suited to a small team sharing the printer throughout the day.
The J5740DW ($371.51) is well-specified for a single-user office or lighter shared use.
Both use the same LC3319XL/LC3317 cartridge set.
