Genuine Canon or compatible PGI-680 and CLI-681 cartridges
Compatible cartridges for the TS8360a are listed in XXL capacity for all six slots: PGI-680XXLBK plus CLI-681XXL black, cyan, magenta, yellow and photo blue, along with compatible multipacks. Genuine Canon cartridges cover standard, XL and XXL sizes. Using a compatible cartridge does not by itself remove your rights under Australian Consumer Law. However, damage caused by a faulty cartridge may not be covered by the printer manufacturer's warranty. Our genuine vs compatible cartridge guide compares the two in more detail.
Pro Tip: Check Which Black You Are Ordering
The TS8360a takes two different black cartridges, PGI-680BK pigment black and CLI-681BK dye black, each with its own slot. Check the cartridge number before ordering so you replace the black that has actually run low.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use CLI-681XL or XXL cartridges if I previously used standard CLI-681?
Yes. Standard, XL and XXL CLI-681 cartridges are all listed for the TS8360a and fit the same slots; the larger sizes simply hold more ink. Sizes can be mixed across slots, so you could run PGI-680XXLBK alongside standard CLI-681 colours.
Which black cartridge should I upgrade first if I mostly print documents?
PGI-680 pigment black is the cartridge used for plain-paper text, so it is the one to upgrade for document printing. It is rated at 200 pages standard, 400 pages XL and 600 pages XXL.
Are compatible CLI-681 and PGI-680 cartridges available in standard or XL sizes?
For this printer, compatible cartridges are listed in XXL capacity only. If you prefer standard or XL sizes, choose genuine Canon cartridges, which are available in all three capacities.
