Canon PIXMA iP6700D Ink Cartridges
Shop ink cartridges for your Canon PIXMA iP6700D, which uses the Canon CLI-8 / PGI-5 ink cartridges series. Ink Depot has been supplying reliable printer consumables for this photo printer since Jul 2007. Designed as a dedicated 6-colour photographic printing system, smooth tonal transitions heavily rely on CLI-8PC Photo Cyan and CLI-8PM Photo Magenta tanks, which deplete faster during portrait and landscape output. Our 4.8 Google rating reflects a long-standing track record of premium cartridge performance.
Expected Page Output and Replacements
Declared page yields follow standard ISO/IEC testing environments, but high-density photographic printing consumes significantly more ink per page than everyday text documents. Because the 6-colour dye ink array utilizes CLI-8PC Photo Cyan and CLI-8PM Photo Magenta for subtle highlights, these specialised shade tanks generally require more frequent replacements during photographic projects.

Choosing Between Genuine and Compatible Options
Under Australian Consumer Law, using compatible cartridges does not void your printer warranty. Third-party CLI-8 cartridges offer a cost-effective alternative for routine printing tasks. Choosing the Right Cartridge Setup
For heavy photographic printing, ordering multi-packs or bundling CLI-8PC and CLI-8PM cartridges ensures you do not run short midway through a print batch. If printing primarily standard black text documents, the high-capacity PGI-5BK pigment black tank provides sharp line output. Compatible cartridges ordered from Ink Depot include a money-back guarantee. Free delivery applies on all orders over $99, with orders dispatched quickly from our warehouses in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Pro Tip
When replacing CLI-8 photo cartridges, keep extra CLI-8PC Photo Cyan and CLI-8PM Photo Magenta inks on hand. Photographic printers generate lighter shades by blending light inks rather than diluting standard cyan and magenta, causing light tanks to deplete up to twice as fast during high-resolution printing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do CLI-8PC Photo Cyan and CLI-8PM Photo Magenta cartridges empty faster than standard CLI-8 Cyan and Magenta?
Photo printers generate subtle tones, skin highlights, and bright skies by spraying fine droplets of light inks. As a result, CLI-8PC and CLI-8PM cartridges handle a higher proportion of droplet volume during photo reproduction compared to primary solid colours.
Can I print with standard CLI-8 cartridges if my photo ink cartridges are empty?
No, the Canon PIXMA iP6700D printhead requires operational ink flow across all installed cartridges to prevent thermal damage to the nozzles. Printing with any empty ink chamber can clog or overheat the printhead assembly.
Do compatible CLI-8 cartridges affect color accuracy in photo prints?
Quality compatible CLI-8 cartridges provide vibrant, accurate color matching for everyday photo output. However, professional archival photography intended for long-term gallery display benefits from original Canon ChromaLife100 formulations for maximum lightfastness.
