Frequently Asked Questions
How do PC-404RF multi-packs differ from single PC-401 ribbon cartridges?
The PC-404RF set contains four replacement thermal ribbon rolls designed to reuse your existing PC-401 cartridge frame, making multi-roll refills more economical than buying standalone full assemblies.
Will thermal fax ribbons dry out if left unused in the printer for long periods?
Unlike liquid ink, thermal transfer ribbons use solid ink film activated by heat. They will not dry out or clog printheads during extended idle periods between faxes.
How can I tell when the PC-404RF ribbon is nearing its end?
The Brother MFC-960MC monitors ribbon depletion and displays a ribbon warning message on screen, while printed pages may show a faint warning strip along the edge as the roll reaches its end.
