Brother Fax-737MC Ribbons
Your Brother Fax-737MC uses Brother PC-401, PC-402RF and PC-404RF thermal transfer ribbons. Ink Depot has been supplying reliable consumables for this printer since Jan 1998. The Brother Fax-737MC is a dedicated plain-paper thermal transfer fax unit with an integrated digital answering system, built for clear document communication in home offices and small businesses. Choosing multi-roll refill options like the PC-404RF lowers per-page transmission costs during frequent incoming broadcasts. Our 4.8 Google rating reflects a long-standing track record of premium cartridge performance.
Thermal Ribbon Yield and Expected Usage
Thermal transfer ribbon yield for Brother thermal fax units is calculated based on standard five-percent text page coverage. Higher graphic density or full-page text transmissions consume thermal film at a faster rate per roll.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Brother PC-401 and PC-404RF ribbon codes?
The PC-401 code refers to a single complete ribbon unit containing both the thermal ribbon roll and the reusable plastic frame cartridge. The PC-404RF code represents a multi-roll refill pack containing replacement thermal ribbon rolls designed to snap directly into your existing PC-401 plastic housing.
Can I print on standard copy paper with Brother Fax-737MC thermal ribbons?
Yes, the Fax-737MC utilizes plain-paper thermal transfer technology. Unlike direct thermal fax units that require sensitive coated thermal roll paper, this system melts black ink film directly onto regular A4 bond or multi-purpose copy paper.
Why does thermal ribbon deplete even if incoming pages contain minimal text?
Thermal transfer fax units advance the ribbon film uniformly for every page fed through the printing mechanism, regardless of how much ink is transferred onto the sheet. Page consumption corresponds directly to total page count rather than exact ink coverage on each line.
