Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the black toner have a higher page yield than the colour toners in this series?
Office printing workflows typically involve significantly more black-and-white text documents than colour graphics. Ricoh formulates the 842287 Black toner with a 33,000-page capacity to balance replacement intervals against the 22,000-page capacity of the 842288, 842289 and 842290 colour toners.
Are the drum units included with Ricoh 842287, 842288, 842289 and 842290 toner cartridges?
No. This series consists of individual toner cartridges only. Image drums in the IM C4500 and IM C6000 series are separate long-life components maintained independently from toner replacement.
Can I replace individual toners in the 842287-842290 series as they empty?
Yes, each toner cartridge operates independently. The printer will prompt you to replace only the specific depleted colour without requiring you to change the remaining cartridges.
Is 842287-842290 a single cartridge or a complete set?
Part number 842287-842290 refers to the complete four-pack bundle containing one Black (842287), Cyan (842290), Magenta (842289) and Yellow (842288) toner cartridge set. Individual cartridges can also be purchased separately by their specific part numbers.
