Expected page output and replacement cycles
Black toner yields are measured using standard ISO/IEC 19752 testing protocols under 5% page coverage. High-yield 44992407 cartridges deliver up to 2,500 pages, offering lower printing costs for volume document printing compared to standard 1,500-page 44992406 options.
| Cartridge Number | Type | Colour | Page Yield | Cost Per Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 44992406 | Standard | Black | 1,500 | $0.17 |
| 44992407 | High Yield | Black | 2,500 | $0.14 |
Cost Per Page = Total Cartridge Price ÷ Page Yield (at 5% coverage). Prices based on Genuine cartridges.
Choosing between genuine and compatible OKI toner
Under Australian Consumer Law, using compatible cartridges does not void your printer warranty. Compatible 44992407 Black toner cartridges provide identical page yields at a fraction of OEM cost, making them ideal for high-volume text printing. Read our genuine vs compatible cartridge guide to evaluate performance differences.
44574310 Drum Assemblies
The OKI MB451dnw uses a separate drum unit (44574310) rated for up to 25,000 pages. Because the drum operates independently from the toner cartridge, it typically outlasts roughly ten standard toner replacements before requiring replacement.
Best way to stock these cartridges
For routine text documents, switching to high-yield 44992407 toner reduces cartridge swap frequency and lowers cost per page. If choosing compatible options for maximum savings, rest assured they carry a money-back guarantee under our returns policy. Free delivery applies on all orders over $99, dispatched quickly from warehouses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. Consumable Pro Tip
Always verify whether your printer is signaling low toner powder or end-of-life for the drum assembly, as fitting fresh toner will not resolve image transfer fading if the drum unit has exceeded its 25,000-page rating.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a separate drum unit differ from the toner cartridge in the OKI MB451dnw?
The 44992407 toner cartridge holds the fine Black powder used to form text, while the 44574310 drum unit transfers that powder onto the paper using heat and pressure. The drum unit is rated for 25,000 pages, outlasting roughly 10 standard toner cartridges.
Can I install a high-yield 44992407 toner if my OKI printer previously used a 44992406 cartridge?
Yes, both the standard 44992406 (1,500 pages) and high-yield 44992407 (2,500 pages) use the exact same physical cartridge frame and slot inside the printer.
Why does my OKI MB451dnw show a drum replacement warning even after installing new toner?
OKI monochrome laser printers track toner supply levels and drum rotations independently. Installing a fresh 44992407 Black toner cartridge will not reset the drum lifecycle counter if the 44574310 drum assembly has reached its 25,000-page limit.
