HP Photosmart 8030 Ink Cartridges
Your HP Photosmart 8030 uses the HP 95 and 98 ink cartridge series, a dedicated photo inkjet printer engineered for borderless photo prints and crisp documents. Ink Depot has supplied reliable ink cartridges for this printer since Jan 2006. While standard 98 (C9364WA) black cartridges suit light text work, upgrading to high-yield 96 (C8767WA) black and 97 (C9363WA) tri-colour options significantly reduces cost per print for image-heavy projects. Our 4.8 Google rating reflects a long-standing track record of premium cartridge performance.
Expected page output and replacement cycles
Declared cartridge yields follow ISO/IEC 24711 standards using standard 5% page coverage test suites. Real-world page output varies based on image density, graphic coverage, and print frequency. Photo printing uses noticeably more ink per page than standard text documents, accelerating colour depletion across continuous photo printing runs.
| Cartridge Number | Type | Colour | Page Yield | Cost Per Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 98 | Standard | Black | 400 | $0.14 |
| 95 | Standard | Colour | 260 | $0.19 |
Cost Per Page = Total Cartridge Price ÷ Page Yield (at 5% coverage). Prices based on Genuine cartridges.
Genuine vs compatible ink options
Choosing between genuine and compatible cartridges allows you to manage printing expenses without sacrificing print quality. Compatible ink cartridges provide high-capacity printing at a significantly lower cost. Under Australian Consumer Law, using compatible cartridges does not void your printer warranty. You can compare genuine and compatible cartridges to decide which option best suits your budget.
Managing replacements and delivery
If you print mostly text documents, standard 98 (C9364WA) or high-yield 96 (C8767WA) cartridges offer dependable black text performance. If you frequently print high-resolution photos, selecting high-yield 97 (C9363WA) colour cartridges minimises replacement frequency. Choosing compatible cartridges offers major savings, backed by our 100% money-back guarantee under our Returns policy if performance fails to satisfy. Free delivery applies on all orders over $99, dispatched quickly from warehouses in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Explore our complete selection of HP ink cartridges today.
Purchasing insight
Because HP 95, 96, 97, and 98 cartridges incorporate thermal printheads directly onto the cartridge unit, replacing an empty cartridge simultaneously installs a fresh firing mechanism, eliminating long-term printhead wear issues.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use high-yield HP 96 and 97 cartridges in place of standard HP 98 and 95 cartridges?
Yes. HP 96 (C8767WA) black and 97 (C9363WA) colour cartridges share identical external dimensions with standard 98 (C9364WA) and 95 (C8766WA) cartridges, fitting the exact same printer slots while holding substantially more ink.
Why does my tri-colour cartridge register as empty when only one colour runs out?
The HP 95 (C8766WA) and 97 (C9363WA) cartridges house cyan, magenta, and yellow inks within a single chambered unit. Once any single colour is exhausted, the entire cartridge must be replaced to prevent thermal printhead burnout in that empty chamber.
Will mixing a genuine black cartridge with a compatible colour cartridge cause print errors?
No. Genuine and compatible cartridges operate independently in the HP Photosmart 8030 cartridge carriage, allowing you to seamlessly pair a standard genuine black cartridge with a high-yield compatible colour unit without communication issues.
