HP LaserJet Pro M118dw Toner Cartridges
Shop toner cartridges for your HP LaserJet Pro M118dw, which uses the HP 94A / 94X toner cartridge series. Ink Depot has been supplying reliable consumables for this printer since Oct 2019. Our 4.8 Google rating proves it: we consistently supply premium cartridges backed by rock-solid reliability. This compact monochrome laser printer handles fast double-sided document printing, where switching from standard 94A (CF294A) cartridges to high-yield 94X (CF294X) toner significantly reduces cost per page.
Expected page output and replacement cycles
Page yield for HP toner cartridges is measured using ISO/IEC 19752 standard testing for monochrome laser printing at standard 5% coverage. High-yield 94X (CF294X) cartridges deliver up to 2,800 pages, offering substantially longer output between changes compared to standard 94A (CF294A) options.
| Cartridge Number | Type | Colour | Page Yield | Cost Per Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 94A | Standard | Black | 1,200 | $0.085 |
| 94X | High Yield | Black | 2,800 | $0.066 |
Cost Per Page = Total Cartridge Price ÷ Page Yield (at 5% coverage). Prices based on Genuine cartridges.
Choosing between genuine and compatible options
Under Australian Consumer Law, using compatible cartridges does not void your printer warranty. Compatible 94X (CF294X) toners offer a budget-friendly alternative for everyday document output without sacrificing crisp text quality. Read our detailed genuine vs compatible cartridge guide to determine which option suits your printing requirements.
Best way to stock these cartridges
If you print high-volume office paperwork, high-yield 94X (CF294X) cartridges or multi-packs provide the lowest running costs. For light text printing, standard 94A (CF294A) toners offer a lower upfront commitment. Compatible toners include a money back guarantee for complete peace of mind. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use high-yield 94X (CF294X) toners in the HP LaserJet Pro M118dw if it originally came with a 94A (CF294A)?
Yes, the 94X (CF294X) high-yield cartridge shares identical physical dimensions and slot fittings with the standard 94A (CF294A), but contains additional toner to yield up to 2,800 pages.
How does 5% page coverage affect the yield of HP 94A and 94X cartridges?
Rated page yields (1,200 pages for 94A and 2,800 pages for 94X) are based on the ISO/IEC 19752 standard assuming 5% page coverage, typical of standard text letters. Printing dense graphics or heavy bold text consumes toner faster, reducing actual output per cartridge.
How can small businesses lower cost per page on the HP LaserJet Pro M118dw?
Opting for high-yield 94X (CF294X) cartridges or high-yield compatible alternatives significantly decreases per-page costs compared to standard-yield 94A cartridges. Buying multipacks or stocking spare high-yield toners also ensures uninterrupted office workflow.
