HP DeskJet F2420 F2423 Ink Cartridges
Shop ink cartridges for your HP DeskJet F2420 and F2423 printers, which use the HP 60 and 60XL ink cartridges series. Ink Depot has been supplying reliable consumables for these all-in-one home printers since Jun 2013. Our 4.8 Google rating proves it: we consistently supply premium cartridges backed by rock-solid reliability. Replacing standard 60 (CC640WA) black cartridges with high-yield 60XL (CC641WA) options lowers per-page costs for everyday document printing.
Expected page output and replacement cycles
Page yields for HP 60 and 60XL cartridges are measured using ISO/IEC 24711 standard test pages. Actual print output varies depending on page coverage, text density, and photograph printing. Choosing high-yield 60XL cartridges provides up to three times more prints per black cartridge compared to standard capacity.
| Cartridge Number | Type | Colour | Page Yield | Cost Per Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 60 | Standard | Black | 200 | $0.24 |
| 60 | Standard | Colour | 165 | $0.35 |
| 60XL | High Yield | Black | 600 | $0.18 |
Cost Per Page = Total Cartridge Price ÷ Page Yield (at 5% coverage). Prices based on Genuine cartridges.
Choosing the right cartridge setup and delivery
If you print primarily everyday text documents, switching to 60XL (CC641WA) high-yield black cartridges delivers better long-term value. For balanced light printing, standard 60 (CC640WA) and 60 (CC643WA) cartridges suit low-frequency replacement needs. All purchases are backed by our transparent returns policy. Free delivery applies on all orders over $99, dispatched directly from our warehouses in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Pro Tip
Because the HP 60 tri-colour cartridge contains cyan, magenta, and yellow ink in a single unit, replacing the tri-colour cartridge becomes necessary as soon as any single colour runs out. If you print heavy amounts of a single shade, consider printing in black-only draft mode for standard text to preserve your colour cartridge for essential full-colour documents.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do the HP DeskJet F2420 and DeskJet F2423 use the exact same ink cartridges?
Yes, both the HP DeskJet F2420 and F2423 share the same HP 60 and 60XL cartridge series. Cartridges listed on this page fit both printer models identically.
Can I mix a high-yield 60XL black cartridge with a standard 60 colour cartridge?
Yes, you can freely mix standard capacity 60 (CC640WA or CC643WA) and high-yield 60XL (CC641WA) cartridges in your printer. The physical dimensions of the cartridge body are identical; the XL variant simply contains more ink internally.
Why do HP 60 cartridges include the printhead on the cartridge itself?
HP 60 cartridges feature an integrated printhead design, meaning the firing nozzles are built into each cartridge. Every time you replace a black or tri-colour cartridge, you replace the printhead, ensuring consistent print output without separate printhead maintenance.
What happens if one colour runs out in my HP 60 tri-colour cartridge?
The HP 60 colour cartridge houses cyan, magenta, and yellow inks in separate internal chambers inside one casing. Once any single colour is depleted, the cartridge must be replaced to maintain accurate colour representation in your prints.
