HP Deskjet 9860 Ink Cartridges
Your HP Deskjet 9860 uses the HP 94 and 95 ink cartridge series, alongside high-yield 96 and 97 options. Ink Depot has been supplying reliable consumables for this printer since Jan 2008. Designed as an A3 wide-format printer for graphics and documents, choosing high-yield 96 (C8767WA) black and 97 (C9363WA) colour cartridges reduces replacement frequency during large print runs. Our 4.8 Google rating reflects a long-standing track record of premium cartridge performance.
Expected Page Output and Replacement Cycles
Page yield measurements follow standard ISO/IEC 24711 testing guidelines for inkjet consumables. Upgrading from standard 94 (C8765WA) black and 95 (C8766WA) colour options to high-yield 96 (C8767WA) and 97 (C9363WA) cartridges substantially increases print output while lowering cost per page for larger document jobs.
Choosing Between Genuine and Compatible Options
Under Australian Consumer Law, using compatible cartridges does not void your printer warranty. Compatible 94 (C8765WA) and 96 (C8767WA) black cartridges deliver reliable text density and print yields equivalent to original HP items at a fraction of the cost. For a detailed breakdown of quality standards and performance testing, review our genuine vs compatible comparison guide.
Best Way to Stock These Cartridges
If you print mainly text documents, selecting high-yield 96 (C8767WA) black cartridges delivers maximum page output. If you print colour graphics or A3 layouts, combining 96 (C8767WA) black with 97 (C9363WA) tri-colour cartridges ensures balanced depletion. Cartridge Selection Tip
Because tri-colour cartridges like the 95 (C8766WA) and 97 (C9363WA) contain cyan, magenta and yellow ink in a single housing, replacing the cartridge when one colour depletes ensures consistent colour accuracy across wide-format prints.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use high-yield 96 and 97 cartridges in place of standard 94 and 95 cartridges?
Yes. The 96 (C8767WA) black and 97 (C9363WA) tri-colour cartridges are physically identical in external dimensions to the standard 94 (C8765WA) and 95 (C8766WA) cartridges, fitting directly into the same printer slots while holding more ink.
What happens if one colour runs out in a tri-colour 95 or 97 cartridge?
The 95 (C8766WA) and 97 (C9363WA) cartridges house all three primary colours in one unit with an integrated printhead. When one colour channel is exhausted, the entire cartridge must be replaced to maintain proper colour balance on graphics and photos.
How do dual-cartridge bundle packs help lower ongoing printing costs?
Multi-packs pairing 94/95 or 96/97 cartridges reduce individual cartridge prices compared to single-item purchases, while ensuring you have both black and colour replacements ready when unexpected print jobs arise.
