Expected page output and replacement cycles
Toner yields for the Fuji Xerox CT203486 series are measured using ISO/IEC 19798 standard coverage tests. In typical business environments, CT203486 black cartridges yield up to 6,000 pages, whereas CT203487 cyan, CT203488 magenta, and CT203489 yellow cartridges yield up to 4,000 pages each.
| Cartridge Number | Type | Colour | Page Yield | Cost Per Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CT203486 | Standard | Black | 6,000 | $0.035 |
| CT203487 | Standard | Cyan | 4,000 | $0.060 |
| CT203488 | Standard | Magenta | 4,000 | $0.060 |

Managing drum units and waste toner
The Apeos C325dw uses separate drum components and waste toner containers alongside standard print cartridges. Fuji Xerox toner cartridges deposit surplus powder into the CWAA0980 waste toner bottle during standard calibration cycles, which eventually requires replacement when filled.
Experience Tip: The CT351282 drum unit has an extended rating of 50,000 pages, outlasting multiple CT203486 toner cartridge replacements before needing to be swapped.
Choosing between genuine and compatible cartridges
Both genuine Fuji Xerox cartridges and compatible alternatives are available for this series. Under Australian Consumer Law, using compatible cartridges does not void your printer warranty. Choosing compatible options significantly reduces cost per page while delivering clear document clarity. You can learn more about how these options compare by reading our genuine vs compatible cartridges guide.
Order options and nationwide shipping
If you print mainly text documents, purchasing individual CT203486 black cartridges keeps overheads low. If you print colour documents regularly, bundled value packs offer significant savings across all four colours. Compatible options include a complete money back guarantee for peace of mind. Check our returns policy for full coverage details. Free delivery applies on all orders over $99. We ship directly from warehouses in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide to ensure prompt delivery.
Pro Tip
Always keep a spare CWAA0980 waste toner bottle on hand; when the printer detects a full waste bottle, it halts all printing operations until a fresh container is installed, regardless of how much toner remains in your cartridges.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to replace the CT351282 drum unit every time I change toner?
No, the drum unit operates independently from the toner cartridges. The CT203486 series toners are changed every 4,000 to 6,000 pages, whereas the CT351282 drum unit lasts up to 50,000 pages under normal operation.
What happens if one colour toner runs empty on the Apeos C325dw?
Because this printer uses a four-colour laser process, running out of any individual colour cartridge (cyan CT203487, magenta CT203488, or yellow CT203489) will stop print jobs until that specific colour is replaced.
Are high-yield CT203486 series cartridges physically larger than standard toners?
No, all CT203486 to CT203489 series cartridges share the exact same physical dimensions and fit directly into the printer slots. The high-yield designation refers purely to the volume of toner powder sealed inside.
