Epson XP-860 Ink Cartridges
Your Epson Expression Photo XP-860 uses the Epson 277 and 277XL ink cartridge series. Ink Depot has supplied consumables for this 6-colour photo printer since Jun 2015. Printing detailed photographic graphics depletes subtle tones such as Light Cyan (C13T278592) rapidly, making high-capacity 277XL cartridges the standard choice for tone-heavy creative projects. Our 4.8 Google rating reflects a long-standing track record of premium cartridge performance.
Cartridge Yield & Real-World Photo Output
Page yield ratings for 277XL cartridges follow ISO/IEC 24711 standard testing. Because high-resolution photographic printing distributes ink unevenly across six individual colours, light highlights and portrait skin tones consume ink differently than standard A4 text pages.
| Cartridge Number | Type | Colour | Page Yield | Cost Per Page |

Ordering Advice & Fast Delivery
If you produce detailed photo prints, multipacks avoid print stops when individual light shades run out. Standard 277 ink cartridges suit lighter usage, while 277XL high-yield tanks lower long-term running costs for volume photo printing. Should any compatible cartridge fail to perform, our returns policy ensures straightforward protection. Free delivery applies on all orders over $99, shipped directly from Australian distribution centers in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. Photo Printing Tip
Keep a spare set of light photo cartridges on hand. The XP-860 requires valid ink levels across all six slots to perform nozzle maintenance and print tasks, even when executing monochrome or document jobs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do Light Cyan and Light Magenta cartridges empty faster than primary colours?
In a 6-colour photo printing system, lighter inks are used continuously to render subtle tones, skin shades, and highlights. Portrait and nature printing naturally consumes light ink tanks at a faster rate than standard Cyan or Magenta.
Can I mix standard 277 cartridges with 277XL high-yield cartridges in the XP-860?
Yes, standard 277 and 277XL cartridges share the same physical shape and slot dimensions. You can install an XL cartridge for high-use shades alongside standard capacity cartridges without operational issues.
Will declared ISO page yields match actual photo printing output?
ISO page yield ratings rely on 5% document page coverage. Full-page borderless photos use near 100% ink coverage, meaning total photo prints per cartridge will be lower than standard document estimates.
