Epson XP-850 Ink Cartridges
Shop ink cartridges for your Epson Expression Photo XP-850, which uses the Epson 277 ink cartridge series. Ink Depot has been supplying reliable consumables for this printer since Feb 2013. Designed for high-definition photographic printing, this 6-ink printer depletes Light Cyan (C13T278592) and Light Magenta (C13T278692) rapidly during smooth gradient fills. Switching to high-yield 277XL cartridges reduces cartridge changeovers. Our 4.8 Google rating reflects a long-standing track record of premium cartridge performance.
Expected Page Output and Replacement Cycles
Page yields for Epson 277 ink cartridges are measured using ISO/IEC 24711 standard test patterns. High-density photo printing consumes ink faster than standard document testing, particularly across light shading channels.

Choosing Between Genuine and Compatible Cartridges
We supply both genuine Epson and compatible 277XL ink cartridges. Under Australian Consumer Law, using compatible cartridges does not void your printer warranty. Compatible cartridges deliver exceptional color quality for everyday photo printing at a lower cost per page. Read our detailed genuine vs compatible cartridge guide to select the best option for your printing needs.
Choosing the Right Cartridge Setup
If you print mostly photos or high-resolution graphics, purchasing 277XL multi-packs provides the best value across all six ink colors. For occasional photo printing, replacing individual 277XL tanks as they deplete avoids replacing unexhausted colors. Compatible cartridges carry a full money-back guarantee if they do not perform to expectations. View our returns policy for details. Free delivery applies on all orders over $99, dispatched quickly from our warehouses in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Cartridge Buying Tip
Because six-color photo printers consume light shade inks more quickly during portrait and landscape printing, keep spare 277XL Light Cyan and Light Magenta cartridges on hand to prevent interruptions mid-print.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Epson Expression Photo XP-850 run out of Light Cyan or Light Magenta faster than standard Cyan or Magenta?
Photo printing relies heavily on lighter tint inks to render smooth skin tones, sky gradients, and subtle highlights. Because these lighter shades are used across almost every photo print, 277XL Light Cyan and Light Magenta cartridges typically deplete faster than primary colors.
Can standard yield 277 cartridges be mixed with high-yield 277XL cartridges in the same printer?
Yes, you can mix standard 277 and high-yield 277XL ink cartridges in any slot on your Expression Photo XP-850. The printer recognizes each tank independently regardless of capacity.
How does replacing individual 277XL colour cartridges benefit photo printing costs?
The individual 6-ink cartridge system ensures you only replace the specific colour that has run out. Unlike combined multi-colour cartridges where one empty tone forces replacement of the entire unit, individual 277XL tanks eliminate ink waste when printing photo projects.
