Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6350 Ink Cartridges
Your Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6350 uses the PFI-106 ink cartridge series alongside the MC-16 maintenance cartridge and PF-05 print head. Designed for fine art and photographic reproduction, this 24-inch wide-format printer relies on balanced 12-colour ink delivery. Studio print runs consume mid-tone shades like Photo Grey (PFI-106PGY) and Photo Cyan (PFI-106PC) much faster than primary red or green cartridges. Ink Depot has supplied genuine consumables for this printer model since Nov 2016. Our 4.8 Google Star rating shows that our customers consistently receive high-quality cartridges backed by reliable performance.
Expected Output and Replacement Cycles
Large format photographic ink usage varies by media coverage and colour density rather than standard ISO/IEC 24711 text document metrics. Delicate mid-tones like Grey (PFI-106GY) and Photo Magenta (PFI-106PM) deplete earlier in gallery passes than primary spot colours.
Print Heads and Maintenance Components
Replacing the dual-channel PF-05 print head restores precise droplet placement across fine photographic gradients, while the MC-16 maintenance cartridge collects excess ink during borderless printing runs.
Experience Tip: The MC-16 maintenance cartridge monitors waste ink capacity independently of print head cycles, ensuring smooth continuous printing during extended canvas print jobs.
Selecting Cartridges and Delivery Details
For studio output and exhibition prints, stocking extra PFI-106PGY Photo Grey and PFI-106MBK Matte Black cartridges ensures high-contrast monochrome and colour print runs are never interrupted. Genuine Canon ink cartridges deliver exact shade matching across various fine art media types. Order with confidence under our strict Returns policy. Free delivery applies on all orders over $99, dispatched quickly from dispatch hubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Studio Pro Tip
Always keep a spare MC-16 maintenance cartridge on hand; wide-format printers automatically stop printing when the waste collector reaches capacity to prevent ink overflow during heavy colour runs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6350 use both Matte Black (PFI-106MBK) and Regular Black (PFI-106BK)?
Matte Black is specifically formulated for absorbent fine art paper and canvas to produce deep, rich blacks, whereas regular Black (PFI-106BK) is used on glossy and semi-gloss photographic paper to prevent bronzing and ink pooling.
Do all 12 PFI-106 colour cartridges drain at the same rate?
No. Neutral tones and light shades such as Photo Grey (PFI-106PGY) and Photo Cyan (PFI-106PC) deplete significantly faster because they are used continuously for smoothing tonal transitions and skin tones.
How often does the PF-05 print head need to be replaced compared to PFI-106 ink cartridges?
The PF-05 print head is a long-life consumable designed to handle thousands of print hours across multiple full sets of PFI-106 ink cartridges before micro-nozzle wear impacts fine spectral accuracy.
