Canon imageCLASS MF229dw Toner Cartridges
Your Canon imageCLASS MF229dw uses the CART337 toner cartridge series. Ink Depot has supplied reliable consumables for this printer since Nov 2014. A compact monochrome laser multifunction unit built for fast office document production, this printer relies on an integrated toner and drum design. Everyday workplace printing depletes CART337 Black toner consistently, making bundle packs ideal for preventing unexpected print delays. Our 4.8 Google rating reflects a long-standing track record of premium cartridge performance.
Expected Page Output and Replacement Cycles
Canon CART337 toner yields are measured using the standard ISO/IEC 19752 monochrome test page pattern at 5% coverage. In busy office settings, printing dense text or high-coverage graphics will reduce real-world output per cartridge.
| Cartridge Number | Type | Colour | Page Yield | Cost Per Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CART337 | Standard | Black | 2,100 | $0.066 |
Cost Per Page = Total Cartridge Price ÷ Page Yield (at 5% coverage). Prices based on Genuine cartridges.

Pro Tip
Mono laser cartridges like the CART337 combine both the toner and photosensitive drum into a single unit. Every time you replace the cartridge, you completely refresh the imaging system, keeping document print quality sharp without needing separate drum replacement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the CART337 toner cartridge contain an integrated drum?
The CART337 uses Canon's All-in-One cartridge design, combining the toner supply, photosensitive drum, and cleaning unit into a single physical cartridge. While individual cartridge costs reflect this integrated construction, it eliminates the need to buy and replace separate drum units over the printer's lifespan.
How many standard text pages can I print before the CART337 runs out?
The genuine CART337 standard cartridge is rated for approximately 2,100 pages based on 5% page coverage. If your business regularly prints dense contracts, bold headers, or full-page PDF documents, actual yield will adjust proportional to the higher toner density used per page.
How long can I store unopened CART337 toner cartridges in an office store room?
Unopened CART337 toner cartridges have a shelf life of up to 24 months when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Because dry toner powder does not dry out like liquid ink, stocking bundle packs ensures immediate availability without risk of toner degradation.
