Brother DCP-185C Ink Cartridges
Shop ink cartridges for your Brother DCP-185C, which uses the Brother LC67 and LC67HY ink cartridge series. Ink Depot has been supplying reliable consumables for this compact flatbed colour inkjet printer since Mar 2009. Replacing standard black LC67BK with high-capacity options helps manage ongoing text printing, while individual LC67C, LC67M and LC67Y colour tanks prevent wasting unused ink. Our 4.8 Google rating reflects a long-standing track record of premium cartridge performance.
Expected output and page yield
Page yield for Brother LC67 cartridges is measured using ISO/IEC 24711 standard test patterns across continuous printing runs. Document coverage and print frequency alter actual output, making high-yield black options the most practical choice for routine text work.
| Cartridge Number | Type | Colour | Page Yield | Cost Per Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LC67BK | Standard | Black | 450 | $0.13 |
| LC67C | Standard | Cyan | 325 | $0.093 |
| LC67M | Standard | Magenta | 325 | $0.093 |
| LC67Y | Standard | Yellow | 325 | $0.093 |
Cost Per Page = Total Cartridge Price ÷ Page Yield (at 5% coverage). Prices based on Genuine cartridges.
Choosing between genuine and compatible cartridges
Selecting between OEM and third-party consumables depends on your printing routine. Under Australian Consumer Law, using compatible cartridges does not void your printer warranty. Third-party alternatives offer substantial savings for daily drafts, while genuine Brother LC67 cartridges provide exact colour accuracy. Read our genuine vs compatible cartridge guide to determine which option suits your printing needs.
Choosing the right cartridge setup
If you print mainly text, buying high-yield LC67BK black cartridges minimizes per-page expense. If you print photos or colour graphics, choosing complete colour sets keeps print quality consistent. Selecting compatible cartridges reduces costs, backed by our money-back guarantee. Free delivery applies on all orders over $99. Key purchasing insight
Because the Brother DCP-185C uses separate ink cartridges for each colour, you only need to replace individual LC67 cartridges as they deplete, avoiding the wasted ink typical of combined tri-colour blocks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mix genuine and compatible Brother LC67 cartridges in the printer at the same time?
Yes, you can run genuine Brother cartridges alongside compatible LC67 cartridges simultaneously without causing recognition errors or affecting print operation.
Why do LC67 colour cartridges sometimes run out even if I mostly print black text?
The printer uses small amounts of colour ink during periodic automatic maintenance routines to keep the printhead nozzles clear and prevent clogging, even during text-only print jobs.
How do I store spare LC67 cartridges so they do not dry out?
Keep extra cartridges sealed in their original vacuum packaging at room temperature away from direct sunlight until you are ready to install them in the printer.
