Pro Tip for Ricoh enterprise printers
When storing high-yield Ricoh toners before installation, store them horizontally in a temperature-controlled environment away from direct sunlight; storing toner upright can cause toner settlement, leading to uneven print density across the page upon initial installation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the Black 821263 cartridge have a higher page yield than the colour cartridges?
Black text accounts for the vast majority of corporate print jobs. Ricoh designs the 821263 Black toner with a 43,000-page yield compared to 34,000 pages for Cyan (821266), Magenta (821265), and Yellow (821264) to ensure all four toners deplete at a more balanced replacement frequency in enterprise office environments.
Can I replace individual Ricoh 821263-821266 cartridges as they run out, or must I replace all four together?
You can replace individual cartridges as needed. The printer tracks each colour toner independently, so installing a single new 821263 Black or 821266 Cyan toner will not interrupt the remaining duty cycle of the other installed colours.
Do Ricoh SP C840DN and SP C842DN printers require separate drum units in addition to these toner cartridges?
Yes. The 821263-821266 series contains toner powder only. The imaging drum units, waste toner bottle, and fuser are separate consumable components with their own maintenance lifecycles and do not need to be replaced every time you swap toner cartridges.
Is Ricoh part number 821263 the same as C13T10S192?
Yes - 821263 and C13T10S192 refer to the exact same genuine Ricoh high-yield Black toner cartridge; C13T10S192 is simply an alternative regional standard identification code used alongside 821263.
